CODE OF CONDUCT

& COMMUNITY STANDARDS

The Koi Calgary Code of Conduct reflects the values of Koi and The Attic staff, performers and audiences. By communicating who we are through these values, we are able to grow our community. By upholding these beliefs we will continue to support and nurture the communities we serve.

Koi and The Attic believe in uplifting those who are often overlooked or who are treated unjustly. We believe in challenging harmful attitudes and changing negative perceptions to create a more equitable community.

We do not tolerate homophobia, fascism, sexism, racism, or ANY form of hate.

Performers who are using The Attic stage and Koi as a platform for their art, must respect that this is a safe inclusive space and we will NOT tolerate hateful lyrics or speech in ANY capacity.

If you are being harmed, notice that someone else is being harmed, or are asked to report harm on behalf of another, or any other concerns, please notify a staff member immediately. If an incident has already occurred, please contact info@koicalgary.com, and hello@theatticyyc.ca when you are safe to do so. For the purpose of protecting survivors of abuse, we respect requests for confidentiality.

We encourage all participants of our events to practice understanding and asserting their boundaries, responsibly manage their recreational consumption, and look out for their fellow community members.

Koi and The Attic staff maintain the right to assert their own boundaries and not engage with artists or patrons who are not adhering to the general standards that this venue represents. Koi and The Attic observe the right to remove anyone from the property, temporarily or permanently, if they feel just in doing so.
